"The great musicians who bridged the gap between Blues and Jazz and Jump and Swing had unique musical identities, sounds and personalities and they allowed their personal fingerprint on everything they had. People like Charlie Parker, Illinois Jacquet, Lionel Hampton, Charlie Christian had unique sounds and played with energy and vigor. Modern players like Duke Robillard, Doug Deming and Joey DeFrancesco continue that process. It’s about tunes and swing, but it’s also about personalities and telling a story when you play music."   -"Little Charlie" Baty

The fifth annual Bradenton Blues Fest was, once again, an outstanding festival here in our city of Bradenton. Having played the festival twice previously, we were honored to be invited to return this year to perform for a sell-out crowd at the Sunday Brunch after-party, held in the beautiful Marriot courtyard. Big thanks to the great folks at Realize Bradenton!

“Doug Deming & the Jewel Tones deliver the sound and styles of Blues and Swing fresh way past the expiration date. Check out “One Good Reason” -- the catchy chorus is part of an engaging story with a surprise happy ending. Sounds good, feels good, breaks your heart then makes you smile.” – Bob Margolin
